Can We Fit a Bathtub into Our Tiny Bathroom? (ORC - Week 1)

I can't believe we're finally doing this! We've been planning our upstairs bathroom renovation since we moved in, but life and money can throw a wrench into all the plans!

I also can’t believe we’ve been living with 3 kids in a house without a bathtub for 3 years! You have to be a certain kind of crazy to endure that! (We do have a shower, don’t freak out 🙃)

So for all those years, I’ve been dreaming up how we would add a bathtub to our tiny upstairs bathroom. I’ve done all the planning, drawing, fixture and tile sourcing, and I even taught myself how to use SketchUp software so I could 3D visualize it. As long as all the plumbing and electrical work out as planned, I think we can do this!

So lets take a look at the planning process:

This was the state when we moved in. Carpet. Enough said.
I made an attempt to improve it a couple years ago with a quick paint job.
But this is where I really got started. Every design idea starts in my little black graphing notebooks.
I use the Morphlio Board app to create mood boards on my phone.
I’ve had 3 YEARS to plan this, so I went annoyingly overboard and did a 3D model. Watch the video below.

That's where we're at. I really want this to work!

Tell me what you think! Does this bathtub vision work? Does it feel too crowded to put a full size tub in there? Can we make this dream a reality?

I think we can!

And to help me get this project into gear, I’ve joined up with all the guest participants in the ORC - One Room Challenge! Which basically means I’m going to have to be on my A-game to get this room completed in 8 weeks, and post about it every Thursday!

I’m excited to share the demo next week!
